To reduce jaw and facial abnormality, better prenatal care, more breastfeeding, and good nasal airway management
must occur to promote nasal breathing.

Faces differ greatly. Much of the difference is in how each of us looks in the lower half of the face. The shapes of our 3-dimensional jaws differ noticeably. They form the unique facial features seen below the eyes. Orthodontic techniques vary greatly in how they influence jaw and facial growth.

Orthodontic philosophies and techniques differ in how they move teeth and then affect the smile and face. Some make the mouth and smile smaller and some make the mouth and smile bigger. All orthodontic treatments affect the face--some for better and some for worse. Know your options and get multiple consults, including an FJO consult, before choosing orthodontic treatment.

If you want to change a face, conservative non-surgical Functional Jaw Orthopedics can start as early as age 2.
